RACHEL FUNK-JOHNSON
E-RYT® 500 • YACEP® • LMT • LPC • Yoga Study Master Teacher
Rachel Funk-Johnson is pure PRANA—a radiant, joyful force of energy that fills every room she enters.
She's the kind of teacher who makes you feel ALIVE—body, mind, and soul. Brilliant, magnetic, deeply compassionate, and a self-proclaimed lifelong learner, lover of yoga, and positivity enthusiast, Rachel brings her whole heart to everything she does as a Yoga Teacher, Cycle Instructor, educator, and member of our Yoga Study faculty.
Rachel earned her initial 200-hour yoga teacher training through CorePower Yoga in 2012 and later became part of Yoga Study 5 at The Yoga Rooms, completing our 230-hour teacher training program in 2019. She continued her education to become an E-RYT® 500 and YACEP®, and today her Yoga Rooms journey has come beautifully full circle as one of our Yoga Study Master Teachers—a teacher of teachers.
But Rachel's education and experience extend FAR beyond the yoga mat.
She holds a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UW–Stout and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Massage Therapist. Over the course of her career, she has also held numerous certifications, including Reiki Level 2, NETA Certified Personal Trainer, bYogaStrong Yoga Sculpt Instructor, and Certified Professional Health Coach.
Rachel also has an extensive background in entrepreneurship and wellness. She owned two boutique wellness businesses in the Chippewa Valley offering yoga, fitness, massage therapy, counseling, energy work, and wellness coaching. In 2023, she stepped away from her final small-business venture, Happy Apple Therapy Center in Menomonie, to pursue her Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with a concentration in entrepreneurship and management.
Because apparently Rachel's version of "lifelong learner" is VERY literal.
She has taught at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and through the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium, works in Project Management, and continues teaching at the university level—all while never straying too far from her yoga mat.
A true believer that hope can be found even in the darkness, Rachel's teaching is infused with authenticity, resilience, compassion, and LIGHT.
She loves a traditional Vinyasa flow and is equally happy to pedal, lift, laugh, learn, and SWEAT. Expect laughter, inspiration, movement, and a reminder that you are resilient, powerful, and filled with possibility.
Outside of teaching, Rachel loves spending time with her husband Jason and their FIVE fur boys—Bridger, Uecker, Bumpa, Pugsley, and Frank—getting outside, reading, laughing with friends, and taking the stage at Oh Claire Improv.
Rachel is a true light in our community—an energy amplifier, soul soother, lifelong student, teacher of teachers, and radiant example of what it means to LIVE yoga from the inside out.
